NAI Nashville Stanton Group Brokers Lease Returning Historic Brentwood Grocery Property to Its Roots

More than 30 years after Huff’s Food Town closed, a 24,350-square-foot retail lease returns the landmark Brentwood property to its roots as a neighborhood grocery store.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — July 30, 2026 — NAI Nashville Stanton Group represented property owner Mike Huff in leasing the 24,350-square-foot former Huff’s Food Town building at 144 Wilson Pike Circle in Brentwood to Nashville Farmers’ Storehouse, returning the historic property to its original purpose as a neighborhood grocery store.

“This wasn’t simply about filling a vacancy. It was about finding a tenant that respected the property’s history while bringing a unique retail concept to Brentwood,” said Devin McClendon, CCIM, CEO of NAI Nashville Stanton Group.

The Huff family purchased Food Town in 1949 when it operated across the street before constructing the Wilson Pike building in 1983. Known throughout the area for its fresh-cut meats and seafood, bakery, deli, specialty cheeses and natural foods, Huff’s Food Town became a Brentwood landmark before closing in 1993. Since then, the building has housed a variety of retail tenants, making its return to grocery retail a meaningful milestone for the property and the community.

“I am tremendously excited about my building returning to its original roots as a grocery store,” said Mike Huff. “The vision of the new local owners is similar to our family’s mission of creating a fresh, healthy alternative to traditional national grocery chains.”

Nashville Farmers’ Storehouse is an independently owned cooperative of farmers and families committed to connecting producers directly with consumers. In addition to a market featuring organic and locally sourced products, the Brentwood location will include a flour mill, bakery and pizzeria. The store also will feature a stage for local musicians as part of its retail experience. Construction is underway, with an anticipated opening date to be announced by Nashville Farmers’ Storehouse.

Although separated by more than three decades, Huff’s Food Town and Nashville Farmers’ Storehouse share a commitment to supporting local producers, offering high-quality food and creating a strong sense of community.
